Two popular areas: Madrid's traditional and modern face

On this tour we cross two of Madrid's most traditional quarters which represent all of the contradictions in Spain's capital. Folkloristic heart of the city as well as its modern face.

We get to know quite a lot of different people and life styles during this walk: well known faces in southern Madrid, immigrants from all over the world trying to build up a new existence and much more. We talk about famous bandits and despotic kings, about the heroic resistance against Napoleon, outsiders and interesting biographies. The stroll through the southern parts of Madrid's centre show us Madrid folklore, its "majos" and "majas", but also its religious minorities - a journey to the picturesque sides of the city's history.
